Asymptote
A downloadable game
You are x. Worth exactly one.
Asymptote is a fast 2D math platformer. Every number in the room is an enemy, and your only weapon is yourself: throw your own value, and each hit subtracts x from whatever it touches. Grab operator orbs to grow, and climb from 1 to Ten, Thousand, Trillion, Googol... past every number there is, all the way to ∞.
Features
- Grow your x with orbs: +k, ×2, x², √x, −x, and ×i, which turns the whole room a quarter turn.
- Trig orb: a unit circle spins around you. sin throws weave through everything, cos throws come back like boomerangs, and tan throws ride the tan curve up toward its asymptote, growing as they go.
- f(x) gun: aim with the mouse and fire straight lines, f(x) = mx + b. A line hits every number on it.
- Numbers that fight back: negative numbers need the right sign, sin numbers swing between + and −, square numbers throw dashes, and ÷0 black holes pull you in and drain your power.
- ∞ bosses: only ∞ can break ∞. Keep squaring until x overflows.
- Endless rooms, three difficulties, dark mode and gamepad support.
- Optimized to run on low-end laptops with integrated graphics.
Controls
- Move: A / D or ← / →
- Jump: Space (or Z / K)
- Run: Shift
- Throw: J, X or left mouse button. Hold W or ↑ to throw straight up.
- f(x) gun: aim with the mouse
- Pause: Esc
- Gamepad: left stick to move, A to jump, X to throw, RB to run, D-pad up to aim up, Start to pause

I saw this concept 2 years ago on youtube tutorial but did not find any game on this idea. suddenly got this and it reminds me exact the game idea that i was looking for and got this one and i was like crazy man, how did you built? Like math, calculation, number, movement - crazy & love the experience
The game was beautifully done and was nice to play. The pros for this game would be that its more attractive for the gamer compared to the original version of this game.
